Samsung is set to launch a range of Galaxy AI features for its 2022 devices next month, including the Galaxy S22, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, and Tab S8 FE. This information comes from a post by a company employee. Some of these features will also be available for the Galaxy S21, Z Fold 3, and Flip 3 devices.

According to the employee's post on the Samsung forum in South Korea, the S22, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, and Tab S8 devices will receive the Galaxy AI features currently available on the Galaxy S23 FE devices, excluding some features like Instant Slow-Mo. 9to5Google reports that these features may also be extended to the Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra, although this has not been confirmed yet.

Samsung also plans to introduce some Galaxy AI features to its 2021 devices, like the Galaxy S21, Z Fold 3, and Z Flip 3, which will have access to features like Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite. According to 9to5Google, these features will also be available for the Samsung S21+ and S21 Ultra devices. The Galaxy AI features will be incorporated into the upcoming One UI 6.1 update, expected to be released in early May.

Introduced in early 2024, Galaxy AI is a suite of AI tools that enable users to edit photos and videos, perform quick searches, and translate conversations, among other functions. Many of these functions operate in the cloud rather than locally on the device. Samsung has hinted that it may consider charging for Galaxy AI features in the future, although no specifics have been provided yet. In late February, Samsung announced that devices from 2023 such as the Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 tablets would also receive Galaxy AI features through a software update rolled out at the end of March. Following the launch of Galaxy AI, Samsung CEO Patrick Chomet expressed the company's desire to evaluate user interactions with AI functions before backporting them to the S22 phones.
