CD Projekt RED is offering the beta version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PC mod tools as REDkit for a playtest. This playtest is available for PC users until April 30. Additionally, the company is introducing a beta version of Steam Workshop integration for the game.

Players who own the 2015 RPG can visit a Steam page to request access to the playtest, as detailed in a blog post by the Polish developer here. The developer explains that new testers will be gradually added to the playtest. The Witcher 3 REDkit is built on the same code lines as those used by the developers, allowing for extensive modding capabilities. To utilize these tools, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt must be installed on the user's PC. CD Projekt RED promises that the final release version of REDkit will be available later this year.

In addition to the mod tools, the company is also testing Steam Workshop integration for The Witcher 3. This feature enables users to easily select and install mods for the game. CD Projekt RED advises users to back up their save files before using mods. Players interested in accessing the Workshop feature do not need to request access; they can simply join a dedicated Steam group for The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, released in 2015, has sold over fifty million copies worldwide. CD Projekt Red is currently developing a new installment in The Witcher series, along with a remake of the original game.
