Proximus Hits New Milestone with 44000 Fresh Fiber Optic Connections, Surpassing 441000 Household Mark

Proximus unveiled 44000 fresh fiber optic connections during the last quarter. The Belgian telecom provider has successfully linked a total of 441000 households to a fiber optic network. Additionally, the company managed to attract a significant number of new customers for both mobile and fixed home subscriptions.

In its latest quarterly report, Proximus highlights a 36 percent increase in 'fiber in the street' connections during the first quarter of the year, amounting to 44000 new installations. As a result, the total number of activated fiber optic lines reached 441000 by the end of March.

The subscriber base of Proximus also witnessed growth, with 21000 new mobile subscribers and 12000 new fixed internet subscribers. The number of customers opting for a 'convergent subscription,' which combines fixed internet and television services, also rose by 17000 in the first quarter compared to the previous year.

Proximus recorded a 4.5 percent increase in turnover, attributed in part to the influx of new subscribers. Turnover from residential connections saw a 6.5 percent rise, while business connections contributed to a 2.7 percent increase. Overall, the company reported a quarterly revenue of 1.2 billion euros. The Proximus Group, which encompasses brands like Flitsmeister and Telesign, achieved a total turnover exceeding 1.5 billion euros.
