It appears that Microsoft is testing out showing app offers in the 'Recommended' section of the Windows 11 start menu. This can be seen from screenshots of a test version of the operating system. The company is also looking to display recommendations on the Windows 11 taskbar.

Screenshots show that the 'Recommended' section in the Start menu of a Windows 11 test version now includes app promotions in addition to tips files or frequently used applications. It is unclear whether these are paid advertisements for apps. Users may have the option to disable this feature in the Settings menu.

Albacore shared a screenshot revealing that Microsoft is considering adding a new button to the Windows 11 taskbar. While the exact purpose of the button is not yet clear, code from the Windows 11 test version suggests it will be a 'Recommended' button. Microsoft has not officially announced these features at this time.
