Tuxedo Computers has just unveiled the new Pulse 14 Gen 4 laptop model. This Linux-powered device features a design similar to its predecessor but now comes equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor.

The Pulse 14 Gen 4 boasts a 14” screen displaying a resolution of 2880x1800 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and complete coverage of the SRGB color range, offering an average brightness of 400cd/m², an improvement over its predecessor's 300cd/m².

The new model replaces the Ryzen 7 7840HS from the Gen 3 with the Ryzen 7 8845HS. Both processors feature 8 Zen 4 cores, 16 threads, and a 5.1GHz turbo, with the 8845HS standing out for its improved NPU for AI workloads. The laptop is paired with 32GB of Lpddr5x-6400 memory and relies on the integrated Radeon 780M graphics as Tuxedo does not include a dedicated GPU. The standard configuration comes with a 500GB NVMe PCI-e 3.0 SSD.

Physical dimensions remain unchanged from the previous model, with the Pulse 14 Gen 4 measuring 31.3x1.8x22.2cm and weighing 1.4kg, including the 60Wh battery. The device offers two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a microSD card reader, and a headphone jack, ensuring versatile connectivity options. Wireless capabilities comprise WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The Pulse 14 Gen 4 comes pre-installed with Tuxedo OS, an Ubuntu-based operating system with the KDE Plasma desktop environment. Users also have the option to choose Ubuntu, Kubuntu, or Ubuntu Budgie. Available for pre-order now, the laptop is set for release on May 30, with the standard version priced at 1249 euros.
