Lenovo has recently unveiled the latest ThinkPad P1 Gen 7, which is priced at a minimum of 2450 euros. This high-performance workstation laptop stands out for being the first to feature thin Lpcamm2 memory modules, developed by Micron and based on Jedec's CAMM2 standard. According to a press release from the company, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 will hit the market in June, boasting an Intel Core Ultra processor that is part of the vPro business platform.

The laptop offers up to a Core 9 Ultra 185H processor, paired with a maximum of 64GB of Lpcamm2 memory. This type of memory is not only more compact than traditional SO-DIMM modules but also consumes less power. Additionally, these modules are not soldered to the motherboard, making them relatively easy to replace. The device comes with a 16" display, offering users the choice between a 1080p or 1440p IPS panel, or a 4K OLED panel. The screen can be powered by the integrated Intel GPU or an RTX 3000 Ada or RTX 4060/4070 from Nvidia. In terms of storage, users can install up to 8TB in the two M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds. Measuring 35.4x24.1x1.7cm and weighing 1.82kg, the laptop is equipped with a 90Wh battery.

Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two 5 Gbit/s USB Type-A ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. HDMI 2.1 and an audio port handle the video and audio output, while networking options feature a Gigabit Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 7.0.1. Overall, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 offers a powerful and versatile computing experience for professionals in need of a reliable workstation.
