A recent update from Intel reveals the existence of a new processor, the Core Ultra 5 234V, based on the Lunar Lake architecture. This particular model name has not been mentioned before, marking a significant development in Intel's CPU lineup. The Lunar Lake CPUs are scheduled for an official release later this year.

The information about the Intel Core Ultra 5 234V CPU was disclosed in a recent GPU firmware patch commented @miktdt. This processor is an engineering sample designed with the upcoming Lunar Lake architecture specifically tailored for laptop processors. It features eight cores, potentially consisting of four P-cores and four E-cores. With eight threads, hyperthreading is not supported. Speculation about these details has been circulating for some time.

The mention of Lunar Lake in the patch hints at its inclusion in Intel's upcoming Core 200 series. Alongside Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake processors and a third Raptor Lake refresh are expected to be part of the same series, as suggested by previous rumors. It is speculated that Lunar Lake CPUs will be distinguished by the 'V' suffix in their model names.

Intel had confirmed in January that Lunar Lake processors will be launched later this year, catering exclusively to laptops and featuring an enhanced NPU for AI computing tasks. Arrow Lake, on the other hand, is slated for desktop release this year, accompanied by a new LGA1851 platform.
