ING App Introduces Check the Conversation Feature to Verify Legitimate Bank Representatives

The ING app introduces a new feature on the login screen that helps customers verify if they are speaking with a legitimate bank representative or a potential scammer. This innovative software cross-checks the caller with the ING system to ensure authenticity.

Users can simply click on a button and enter their mobile number to initiate the verification process. The system then confirms if there is an active conversation between the bank and the provided number, notifying ING accordingly. In case of any discrepancies, customers are advised to disconnect and contact the bank directly.

Starting from April 16, this verification button will be gradually rolled out on the ING app for both iOS and Android users. The implementation will be in phases, so not all customers will immediately see the button upon its release. ING plans to share their experiences with 'Check the Conversation' feature with other banks in the Netherlands.
