According to a well-known leaker, OnLeaks, Google is rumored to be preparing to release three different models of the Pixel 9 this year. The lineup would include a Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and a Pro XL variant. OnLeaks has also revealed the first renders of the standard Pixel 9.

The leaked renders of the Pixel 9, published in collaboration with 91mobiles, show that the smartphone measures 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 millimeters. The thickness of the Pixel 9 is 12mm at its thickest point due to a slightly protruding camera strip on the back. Unlike its predecessor, the Pixel 8, the camera strip on the Pixel 9 does not extend across the entire width of the back.

It is reported that the Pixel 9 will feature a 6.03" diagonal screen, slightly smaller than the 6.2" screen of the Pixel 8. The top center of the screen is expected to have a punch-hole for the selfie camera, while the power and volume buttons will be located on the right side of the frame, similar to the Pixel 8.

While specific specifications have not been shared by 91mobiles, it is believed that the Pixel 9 will have Adaptive Touch technology. This feature makes the touch-sensitive panel more responsive, allowing the screen to function even in challenging conditions like rain. Additionally, the Pixel 9 is said to support wireless charging at 15W using the Qi2 standard.

OnLeaks previously shared renders of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL, thinking they were the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. These renderings reveal a new design language for the devices, including flat sides and an updated camera strip. The Pixel 9 Pro is expected to have a 6.1" screen, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL will feature a 6.5" screen. The release of the Pixel 9 series is anticipated in the second half of 2024, although the exact launch date is yet to be confirmed.
