Google is set to launch a native Arm version of its Chrome browser for Windows PCs in the near future. The announcement was made by the tech giant on Tuesday. Previously, an Arm version of the Chrome Canary test browser had been released for the same operating system.

The tech giant will be rolling out the native Arm version of its web browser for Windows 'this week', according to a blog post. This release will be available on the Google website. Qualcomm, the chip designer, also confirms that the rollout will commence on Tuesday.

The new version of Chrome supports arm64 architectures and is expected to outperform the x86 version, which operates through emulation, on Arm PCs. Google had previously released an Arm version of Chrome for Apple's Mac devices and Chromebooks with Arm SoCs have supported Chrome for a while.

The introduction of a native Arm version of Chrome precedes the summer release of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon PCs. Currently, Qualcomm is the sole manufacturer of Arm chips for Windows devices. According to sources from Reuters, AMD and Nvidia are also in the process of developing Arm chips for PCs.
