Reports from Windows Central suggest that Microsoft is gearing up to unveil new Surface products on March 21. These upcoming devices are expected to feature enhanced NPUs and will be optimized for tasks involving artificial intelligence. Options for both Arm and Intel SoC versions of the laptops will be made available to consumers.

The release timeline for the new laptops is as follows: the Intel variants are projected to hit the market in April, with the Arm versions slated for a June launch, as reported by Windows Central. Insiders familiar with the matter have shared that the Surface Pro 10 will sport a design reminiscent of its predecessor, the Pro 9, featuring an OLED display with improved brightness and HDR support. Additionally, expect upgrades to the camera and the inclusion of a built-in NFC reader.

Meanwhile, the design of the Laptop 6 will undergo some changes with slimmer bezels and rounded corners. Sources indicate that this laptop will come equipped with two USB-C ports, a USB-A port on the left side, and a magnetic charging port on the right.

Microsoft is placing a strong emphasis on the new features in Windows 11 that will be showcased alongside these laptops. AI capabilities such as the game upscaler and subtitle translator are expected to enhance user experience. Furthermore, sources suggest that the upcoming Surface devices will introduce an AI Explorer feature, allowing users to search their PC using natural language. For instance, users could ask the function to locate a list of restaurants recommended by a friend in an email or chat conversation.

The AI Explorer function will also offer context-specific tools like an image editing button that can fulfill requests specified in text, such as removing backgrounds. These AI advancements are said to be part of the Windows 11 version 24H2 update, slated for a fall release. Microsoft has yet to address these rumors from Windows Central.
