Electronic Arts Confirms No New Dead Space Game in Development, Contrary to Rumors of Dead Space 2 Remake 2023

Electronic Arts, also known as EA, currently has no plans to release a new Dead Space game. Contrary to rumors that circulated earlier this week about a Dead Space 2 remake being in development, EA has clarified that such a project never actually existed.

The decision to put a hold on creating a new Dead Space game was made in the spring of 2023, as reported by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier. Despite the release of the Dead Space 1 remake on January 27 of that year, EA was disappointed with the sales figures, according to unnamed sources.

Although Motive Studio, the team responsible for the Dead Space remake, brainstormed ideas for a new addition to the Dead Space series, nothing concrete materialized. Since last summer, a significant portion of the Dead Space team has shifted focus to other projects.

The original Dead Space game debuted in 2008 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms. Subsequent sequels were released in 2011 and 2013. Nearly a decade after the original, a remake of Dead Space 1 was launched.
