Unfortunately, Deviation Games, the development studio established in 2020 by a group of former Call of Duty developers, will be shutting down. The studio was in the process of working on a new IP for Sony.

Kriste Stull, the operations officer at Deviation Games, shared the news on LinkedIn. The reason for the closure was not provided. As of now, there has been no official announcement on the Deviation Games website.

Founded in 2020 by Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell, two game developers with previous experience on Activision's Call of Duty franchise, Deviation Games partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2021 to create new intellectual property for Sony. In May 2023, the company underwent restructuring, resulting in approximately 90 layoffs according to Eurogamer.net.

By the end of February, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a workforce reduction of 8%, affecting around 900 employees globally. The closure of the London Studio and layoffs at Dutch Guerrilla Games, both owned by Sony, were also confirmed. It remains unclear if there is a link between this restructuring and the closure of Deviation Games.
